2024 Imagination Film Fellowship

Big in Arizona, in collaboration with DLP Productions and made possible by Lowell Observatory and Creative Flagstaff, is excited to announce the inaugural 2024 Imagination Film Fellowship. Five fellows will be selected to participate in an innovative film-theater hybrid experience that will premiere at the Universe Theater in November 2024 at the opening of the state-of-the-art Marley Foundation Astronomy Discovery Center at Lowell Observatory. 

Details

Mentorship

Each fellow will be mentored by an award-winning visual or audio artist.

Stipend

Each fellow will receive a $2,400 stipend.

Experience

Each fellow will gain production experience and help create an innovative large-format film.

How To Apply

The 2024 Imagination Film Fellowship will begin the week of March 10th, 2024. The fellowship will span approximately 14 days (4-8 hours per day) through the months of March-August and will include workshops, storyboarding, pre-production, filming, and post-production on the cinema/theater hybrid production currently titled "Imagination and the Universe". This unique show covers an array of topics including human imagination, the expanding Universe, and Indigenous astronomy of Northern Arizona.

The fellowship will take place in Flagstaff, Arizona.  

 

Applications will close Friday, March 1st 10pm MST.

This fellowship is for emerging filmmakers at the beginning stages of their careers in the following areas: directing/producing, cinematography, animation, and sound.
